Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover
Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six-foot-four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich
And he said
I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover

Today brings the end of another era. It saddens me to see the Australia sim empty. Last night I was told that the Aussie sim was going and I was heart broken. If you never got to venture over and check it out it is such a shame. This sim has so many memories for me and I met alot of wonderful Aussies while hanging there early in my days.
When I was a noob on SL 5 years ago one of the first places I learnt how to tp to was the Australian sim. I thought it was odd that I would spend my time in my own city of rl but I felt safe there and relaxed while learning the ways of Secondlife.

Centrepoint tower was my first home...a place I would hang out with friends and meet people who would be exploring. I would get to tell them about my beautiful city and answer questions like..." Do we really ride kangaroo's?" ummm, No we dont lol!
I admit I didnt visit the Aussie sim alot in the past years but knowing it was there was comforting. We celebrated Anzac day there, Australia day and there was always an aussie around the sim any time, especially at night when most of America was sleeping.
This truly is a sad day but I would like to thank the owners who spent thousands of real dollars keeping this sim going and the effort to keeping it fresh and alive. Even tho it has now gone I have some awesome memories and pics that will stay with me and maybe one day we may see the Australian Sim return.

Australia, I tp'ed this morning and stood amongst the emptiness that you once stood and my heart felt heavy.
So, farewell for now and maybe one day we will see a return of you to Secondlife.
Thank you for the memories.
Hugs Ally
